Create a Subscription

Before you start

• Decide whether you want to watch all incidents or only a subset by system, function, or tag.
• Decide whether you want all severities or only the urgent ones.

Do this

1. Open Subscribe.
2. Create a subscription and give it a name you will still understand later.
3. Add the systems, functions, or tags you want to watch, or leave it broad if you want all incidents.
4. Choose the severities you care about.
5. Choose the delivery channels for the subscription.
6. Save the subscription and keep it enabled.
7. If you are coming from Status or Catalog, use the watch shortcut to prefill the target for you.

Check it worked

• The subscription appears in the list with the right target summary.
• The selected channels and severities match what you intended.
• The watch state from Status or Catalog reflects the new subscription.

If it does not work

• If the subscription is too noisy, narrow the targets before you remove channels.
• If no channels are available, ask an admin to enable or configure them.
• If you need to be paged as an on-call responder, use escalation policy instead of subscriptions.
